Northern Beaches Sporting Champions Recognised

Four young athletes from the Northern Beaches Sporting Champions program have received funding support to help continue their sporting journeys at higher competition levels.

Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan presented Local Sporting Champions grants to Arlo Dent (hockey), Elijah Franke (futsal), Emily Hunter (touch football) and Gracie McLennan (athletics).

The program supports athletes aged 12 to 18 who represent their communities at state, national or international competitions.

Mr Hogan said the recipients had demonstrated strong commitment while representing the Northern Rivers across multiple sporting codes.

The grants assist families with travel and participation costs, helping regional athletes access opportunities beyond their local area.

Young competitors across the Northern Rivers are encouraged to apply for future Local Sporting Champions funding through the national program.
