The North Coast Road Riders are preparing to bring festive cheer to the Northern Rivers. They are gearing up for their annual Our Kids Motorcycle Toy Run this Sunday, 30 November. The much-loved community event invites riders from across the region to don their brightest Christmas outfits, donate a new unwrapped toy, and join a colourful convoy travelling from Ballina to Lismore.
All donated toys will be delivered to children receiving care at Lismore Base Hospital’s children’s ward. They will also go to local organisations supporting children with special needs. Event organiser Jillian Challinor said riders of all experience levels are welcome.
“Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned rider, everyone is welcome to join in,” she said.
Our Kids Fundraising Coordinator Rebekka Battista said the Toy Run brings comfort to children. Especially those who may be spending Christmas in hospital.
“This is such a beautiful way the community can brighten up the children who are in hospital over the Christmas season,” she said. “Thank you to everyone taking part — we look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.”
Riders are encouraged to go all out with Santa suits, tinsel, elf ears, Christmas hats or any festive accessories. This will add colour and joy to the event. Following the ride, participants will be welcomed in Lismore with a sausage sizzle and drinks.

Route: Ballina → Alstonville → Goonellabah → Lismore
Finish: Browns Creek carpark, Keen Street, Lismore
The annual event continues to be one of the region’s most heart-warming charity traditions. It helps bring joy to children in hospital and ensures families doing it tough feel supported during the festive period.
