Marian Tubbs Exhibition Opens at Lismore Regional Gallery
The Marian Tubbs exhibition Lismore Regional Gallery opens on 8 May 2026, presenting the largest showing of the acclaimed artist’s work in New South Wales.
Titled I don’t sleep I just dream: unrefined in high definition, the exhibition runs until 9 August 2026 and features video, sculpture, lenticular photography and installation works exploring the relationship between digital culture, material environments and ecological change.
Tubbs’ assemblage-based practice combines surveillance imagery, found materials and everyday objects to create layered installations that challenge how audiences interpret value, identity and meaning in contemporary life.
Based in Lismore and teaching at Southern Cross University, Tubbs said the exhibition reflects how living in the Northern Rivers has influenced her creative practice.
“I am thrilled to present the largest exhibition of my work in NSW here in Lismore,” she said.
Her work has previously featured in major national exhibitions including Know My Name: Australian Women Artists 1900–Now at the National Gallery of Australia and is held in public collections across Australia.
Acting Gallery Director Courtney Gibson said the exhibition highlights the interaction between physical and digital worlds shaping modern experience.
The exhibition continues Lismore Regional Gallery’s commitment to presenting artists with strong regional connections alongside national significance.
The exhibition runs 8 May to 9 August 2026 at Lismore Regional Gallery, 11 Rural Street, Lismore. Entry is free.
