Savour The Tweed Returns This October
Australia’s favourite regional food and drink festival is set to return bigger and better than ever, with Savour The Tweed bringing five days of exceptional food, local produce and unforgettable culinary experiences to the Northern Rivers this October.
Running from Wednesday, October 21 to Sunday, October 25, the festival has firmly established itself as one of New South Wales’ premier regional food events, celebrating the farmers, producers, chefs and hospitality businesses that have helped transform the Tweed into one of Australia’s most exciting food destinations.
Now entering its third year as Tweed Shire Council’s signature food and drink festival, Savour The Tweed continues to grow in both reputation and scale. The 2026 program will feature almost 30 unique events, ranging from long-table feasts and exclusive dining experiences to producer tours, cooking demonstrations and thought-provoking discussions exploring the future of food, sustainability and regional agriculture.
The festival is co-curated by internationally recognised chef and author Christine Manfield and Northern Rivers food advocate Amy Colli, whose shared vision celebrates not only exceptional cuisine but also the people and stories behind every ingredient.
Visitors can expect a carefully curated program highlighting the region’s rich agricultural heritage and outstanding culinary talent. Events will showcase everything from paddock-to-plate dining experiences and intimate farm visits to collaborative chef dinners set against the spectacular backdrop of the Tweed’s lush hinterland and pristine coastline.
This year’s festival also boasts an impressive line-up of culinary stars.
Among those featured are proud Bundjalung chef Mindy Woods, renowned author and television presenter Palisa Anderson, Le Cordon Bleu Master Samantha Gowing, acclaimed Sydney-based Syrian chef Sharon Salloum, together with some of the Tweed’s finest local chefs including Ben Devlin from Pipit, Baxter Newstead from Paper Daisy, Dani Wilson and Ewen Crawford from Bistro Livi and Dayron Concepcion from Tweed River House.
Deputy Mayor Reece Byrnes said the continued success of Savour The Tweed reflects the region’s growing reputation as one of Australia’s leading food and agritourism destinations.
He said the festival celebrates not only outstanding local produce but also the hardworking farmers, producers, chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality staff whose passion contributes significantly to the local economy and community. By connecting visitors directly with the people behind the produce, the event showcases the unique landscapes, flavours and stories that make the Tweed a remarkable destination.
More than simply a food festival, Savour The Tweed offers visitors an authentic opportunity to experience the region through its people, produce and culture. Every event has been designed to strengthen the connection between growers, chefs and consumers while highlighting the importance of sustainable local food production and First Nations storytelling.
Organised by The Tweed Tourism Company and proudly supported by Tweed Shire Council, the festival continues to attract food lovers from across Australia while generating valuable economic benefits for local businesses throughout the region.
With many events expected to sell out well before October, organisers are encouraging food enthusiasts to book early and secure their place at what promises to be one of the Northern Rivers’ premier culinary celebrations of 2026.
