Ebenezer Park Walkway Upgrade Completed
The Ebenezer Park walkway upgrade at Tweed Heads has restored a key coastal connection between Jack Evans Boat Harbour, Little Duranbah Beach and Coral Street following damage caused by the 2022 floods.
Completed in March 2026, the project delivers a wider 2.5-metre shared pathway, improved seawall protection and new public seating along one of the Tweed’s busiest waterfront recreation corridors.
The upgrade restores safe pedestrian access that had been restricted for several years while strengthening resilience against future storm and erosion impacts.
New features include an accessible drinking fountain, upgraded park furniture, landscaped turf areas and retaining walls designed to double as seating. Existing beach access stairs and showers were retained as part of the project.
Tweed Shire Mayor Chris Cherry said the works improve access to one of the region’s most valued coastal spaces.
“Little Duranbah Beach is one of the gems along our coastline,” Cr Cherry said.
The project was jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments and delivered by Tweed Shire Council.
The improved walkway strengthens links between key foreshore destinations while supporting tourism and community use across Tweed Heads.
