Changes to bin collection services – Cumbalum and some rural areas
Ballina Shire Council will be introducing changes to bin collection services in a number of urban and rural areas from early October 2021.
These changes are necessary to maintain efficient waste and recycling collection services for our residents as demand across the shire continues to grow.
Impacted properties will receive a letter to notify them of these changes.
The following changes will come into effect from October 2021:
· Cumbalum – Urban 3-bin collection day will change from Tuesdays to Mondays starting on Monday 4 October 2021.
· Rural residential and commercial properties with a recycling bin collected on a Thursday – Fortnightly recycle bin collection will change to the alternate Thursday starting on Thursday 7 October 2021. Recycle bins will be collected on Thursday 30 September, again the following week on Thursday 7 October, and then continue fortnightly.
· Rural residential and commercial properties with a recycling bin collected on a Friday – Fortnightly recycle bin collection will change to the alternate Friday starting on Friday 8 October. Recycle bins will be collected on Friday 1 October, again the following week on Friday 8 October, and then continue fortnightly.
Council will do as much as possible to assist the community as we implement a smooth transition. Council thanks residents for their patience and understanding as these changes are implemented.
Residents should visit ballina.nsw.gov.au/bin-collection-days for more information, including service area maps outlining current collection schedules, or call the Waste Management Centre on 02 6686 1287.
