Bangalow featuring French chef Pamela Maudy
Offering unique culinary experiences, MIRA teams up with WOODS for a one-off dining experience in charming Bangalow in Northern New South Wales.
MIRA is the brainchild of accomplished French-Australian chef Pamela Maudy who grew up on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast before spending most of her adult life in her original country of birth – France. After moving back at age 21, she spent 8 years working as a chef in Paris’ bistronomy scene.
In 2019, she met now husband Geoffrey Antonino in the south of France. Since then, they have worked alongside each other across three continents, recently settling in Australia’s Northern Rivers to start a new venture. Through MIRA, they create curated culinary experiences including private dining, events, artistic food installations, and pop ups such as the one taking place at WOODS on the 7th of January.
Maudy says:
“Our ethos is to prioritise quality, working with organic and artisanal local suppliers and respecting seasonality. The Northern Rivers is such a beautiful part of the world, and we are spoiled when it comes to local produce to work with. For me, food is art and I believe in quality without pretence, in challenging the norms to surprise people, and in stimulating creativity through food.”
For their debut event on January 7th, they will take over Bangalow’s WOODS cafe and present a creative five-course tasting menu centred around produce from the land and sea, set in a candle-lit patio. Pamela and Geoffrey look forward to introducing their work to the Northern Rivers through this first offering. Tickets are limited and must be booked in advance.
